San Marino - Stamp Packet
San Marin (or San Marino) is a small republic located near Italy. Considered a microstate, it is totally landlocked by Italy. The republic began issuing its own stamps in 1877, even though the first post office was opened 44 years before in 1833, when San Marin used Italian stamps. Postage stamps of San Marin are popular with collectors and are a source of income for the country, which is one of the richest in the world with a standard of living comparable to Switzerland.
