The Tahltan Bear Dog, a bold but gentle hunting dog now feared to be extinct, is one of four native Canadian breeds to be depicted on postage stamps issued by Canada Post Corporation. The other three breeds include th Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, the Canadian Eskimo Dog, and the Newfoundland Dog. The stamps feature illustrations by Mia Lane, with layout and typography by David Nethercott. Date of Issue: 26 August 1988.
