Corals are animals, solitary or in colonies, that can form reefs or "forests" on the ocean floor. Normally associated with tropical waters, corals can form large reefs several kilometres offshore, and atolls which are a ring of horseshoe-shaped islands with a central lagoon. Contains Scott number 1951b.
