Souvenir sheet of 2 stamps, imperforated

Extremely rare imperforated souvenir sheet of the 2003 joint issue with Thailand, it is even scarcer than the imperforated pair of the same issue (#2001c), of which there are only 40 known! The tremendous scarcity of this variety is reflected by its massive catalogue value of $2,000!!!

But even more impressive, this is a pre-production copy from an internal press sheet of the printer, that should have never appeared on the market! The most notable difference is that the design is larger (when compared to a #2001b or a "regular" imperforated #2001d), i.e. more of the stamp design is visible at each side! There are also differences in the tagging and gum colour!

Throughout the years, we have seen a few imperforated #2001d on the market (very few in fact), but we are only aware of one other such pre-production copy, which means it has to be even scarcer than a "normal" #2001d! Regular perforated souvenir sheet #2001b included as a reference.
