Description

Württemberg is a former state in southwestern Germany. Since 1952, the area has been a part of the modern German state of Baden-Württemberg. It has always been a largely agricultural area and even today, the region is known for its rich pasture lands and orchards, and especially its vineyards. Württemberg still produces wine, though they are slightly different from most traditional German varieties. The postal history of Wurttemberg lasted from 1851-1924.
