Superb #12 on period cover shipped from Waterdown U.C. (Ontario) on the 25th of April 1859, passing by Hamilton the same day, to Windsor the next day and finally to its destination in Sandwich. The stamp itself is outstanding, incredibly well centred and perforated for this issue, one of the the best we have seen! It is also remarkably fresh and very lightly cancelled by two crisp seven-ring targets. This stamp on cover is listed for $2,000, but it is in such great condition that this #12 is also worth $1,600 on its own!
