A very rare complete set of 11 Plate Proof printed in black. Their existance was long rumored and subsequently only confirmed in the 1950s. 

Issued June 19 1911. Printed by De La Rue and A. Alexander & Sons. The 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 10¢ issues were engraved by De La Rue. The 6, 8, 9, 12 & 15¢ were engraved by Macdonald with Alexander as the printer. Plate proofs of all the values were produced in black. The De La Rue values are on thin paper. The others are on card stock. Morris apparently ordered the proofs.

Issued to commemorate the coronation of King George V. The issue was contracted for by Whitehead Morris.
