Description

Nabha was a princely state of India from 1885-1948 during the British Raj. When India gained independence, the region eventually became a part of Punjab state. The British had an agreement with India which allowed certain states to issue stamps of British India overprinted with the name of the state. Stamps were issued by Nabha until 1948. Nabha adminstered 15 post offices in all and was known for having a population with a relatively high literacy rate.
