Tunisia is a country in north-eastern Africa on the Mediterranean. It is a Muslim country with a good economy in comparison with some other North African nations. The ancient history of Tunisia goes all the way back to the 10th century B.C.E. when the first peoples inhabited the region. The ancient Romans also inhabited the area and many archaeological sites of this era can still be visited. Visitors can also stay at the many seaside resorts.
