Sweden is a European country near Norway and Finland. This Nordic nation has given us Volvo, Ikea and ABBA! Sweden's history dates back to prehistoric times and is perhaps most well known for its Viking history and legends. The first postage stamps of Sweden were issued in 1855 and were inscribed 'SVERIGE', which means Kingdom of the Swedes. The same inscription is on all Swedish stamps to this day.
