Reunion is a tropical island located in the Indian Ocean which is mainly agricultural. Even though it was originally discovered by the Portuguese, it is now an overseas property of France and its individual population is considered as members of the French Republic. Reunion is known for its active volcanoes. The first stamps of Reunion were issued in 1852.
