Liechtenstein is a microstate located in Western Europe bordered by Switzerland and Austria. It is the smallest German-speaking country in the world and it is also completely located within the Alps. It was neutral during the Second World War, dispute the fact that a significant amount of Nazi sympathizers lived in the country for a time. At the end of the war, many of its lands were expropriated by nearby Czechoslovakia and Poland. The postal history of Liechtenstein begins in 1912 and its post officehas been administered by Switzerland since that date.
