As a French protectorate, French Morocco issued stamps from 1914-1956. French Morocco only included the south of the country, with the north being under Spanish authority. The first stamps were issued from existing French stamps with an overprint of Protectorat français. New designs emerged in 1917 inscribed Maroc.
