Danzig is a city in Poland which has been annexed by several nations throughout its history. It has been under the control of Prussia, Germany, Poland, Russia and was even a self-ruling free city for a time. During its years as a free city, Danzig issued its own stamps from 1920-1939. After WW2, Danzig again became a part of Poland. Many of its inhabitants are German-speaking.
